Agriculture and Rural Development

A stronger agriculture to feed Africa and the world. “Our African continent has an immense potential that should enable it not only to feed itself, eliminate hunger and food insecurity, but also to become a major player in international markets. This potential is its land, water and oceans, its women and men, its know-how, and an immense market. Aware of this opportunity, the African Union chose, 10 years ago, to make agriculture one of the main pillars of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development. Agriculture is an essential part of the economy of all African countries.

African countries. It therefore has a role to play in addressing continental priorities such as poverty and hunger eradication, boosting intra-African trade and investment, rapid industrialization and economic diversification, sustainable management of our resources and environment, and job creation, security and shared prosperity.

Understanding these challenges, BPL positions itself as a reliable partner in the development of agricultural infrastructure and agribusiness, focusing on creating a sustainable development impact that protects the livelihoods of African populations.

At BPL, we firmly believe that the sustainable growth of Africa’s agricultural and agribusiness economy will protect the well-being of current and future generations of farmers as key contributors to realizing the continent’s potential.
